The Piedmont Food Bank is here to help! This guide will give you some tips to make the most of your experience.

Food Distribution:

  • Days and Times: Food boxes are distributed every Thursday from 4pm to 6pm.
  • Arrival Time: Please arrive between 4pm and 5:30pm. Distribution ends at 6pm.
  • Frequency: You can visit the food bank every other week.
  • Proof of Address: Bring a photo ID with your address, or some other proof of address, such as a utility bill or a contract with your name and address on it.

Arrival and Wait Time:

  • Lines are common: Especially towards the beginning of distribution times. Be prepared to wait.
  • Dress for the weather: Lines may be outdoors, so dress accordingly for hot or cold weather.
  • Bring patience and understanding: Food banks rely on volunteers and donations, so there may be unforeseen delays. Your patience and a kind attitude toward others and our volunteers will make it a better day for everyone.
In Case of Bad Weather:
  • Distribution may be delayed, rescheduled, or postponed in the event of severe bad weather, particularly thunder and lightning or heavy rain.
  • We apologize if the weather makes us change plans, but we can’t control the weather, and we want everyone to be safe.
  • If the weather is bad, please check our Facebook page for any announcements about schedule changes.

Additional Tips:

  • Plan your meals: Once you receive your food box, plan meals around the available items.
  • Store food safely: Store your food properly to avoid spoilage.
  • Be respectful: Food bank staff and volunteers are working hard to help others. Treat everyone with courtesy.
  • Ask questions: If you have any questions or dietary restrictions, don’t hesitate to ask the staff.
